Winchester RFU club  ground. June 2027

4 nights over a weekend  from Thursday 24th June to leave Monday 28th June 2027.  

£16.50 per night.

Basic facilities only of water point, chemical and grey waste point (drain) use of bins glass, recycling and general.  No electric hook up or washing- up sink. 


But … 

You do have Wonderful Winchester steeped in so much history you’ll have much to choose from and which is just 15 mins walk along the River Itchen.
A few points of interest include:
King Alfred whose iconic 1901 bronze statue still stands proudly in the heart of the city. 

The Guildhall . 
The Great Hall and King Arthurs Round Table. The magnificent Cathedral where at the daily Choral Evensong the Cathedral's world-class choir often practice.

 

The Ancient Watermill with cafe. NT free. Wolvesey Castle (Old Bishop's Palace).
That’s not to mention a huge varieties of 

restaurants (Gurka, Rick Stein) cafes, art galleries, musuems (Rifles, Gurka) shops and the  Edwardian style theatre.
Buskers entertain along the High  street where the famous farmers market, one of the largest in England will also be found  on  Sunday.
 

 


Swimming in the River Itchen chalk stream  nearby. 
Good walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside including the water meadows at St Cross .
The Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble Poverty is England's oldest continuing almshouse, founded in 1132 by Bishop Henry of Blois and continues to house retired gentlemen ("Brothers") while offering visitors a glimpse into medieval history.
