We stopped for the evening in Lűbeck, Northern Germany, on our way back from Denmark, having been recommended to visit this medieval Hanseatic port.
There is a designated aire near the river, but is was cramped and full when we arrived, mid afternoon, but luckily we found a space in a nearby carpark right on the waterfront. It is just a five minute walk across the river to the town.
The town was delightful, lots of interesting buildings and streets to wander it is also famous for its marzipan.
It is well worth a stop on your way to the ferry
